Feeling Stuck Where You Are

When It Feels Like You’re Not Getting Anywhere

Anonymous

So… I’m just a regular person trying to figure this recovery thing out one day at a time. I don’t have any special wisdom or big story to tell, I’m mostly just learning how to live without making everything harder than it has to be. I write stuff down when my head gets too loud, and sometimes it helps to know someone else might feel the same way. That’s really all I’m doing here.

I don’t really know how to say this the “right” way, but lately recovery has just felt slow as hell. Not bad, not dramatic, just… slow. Like I’m doing all the things I’m supposed to do and somehow still waiting for some big moment that never shows up.

People keep talking about breakthroughs and spiritual awakenings and whatever, and I’m over here just trying to remember to eat something green and answer texts before three days go by.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you’re in that same weird spot where nothing feels exciting  or life‑changing, you’re not the only one. I thought it meant I was stuck. Turns out it just means I’m living a normal day, in a normal life. Which, honestly, is progress even if it doesn’t feel like it.

Some days I’m proud of myself for doing the bare minimum. Some days I’m annoyed that the bare minimum is still this hard. I’m showing up though, and if you’re showing up too, that counts.

Anyway, if you’re in the slow part right now, I’m right there with you. We don’t have to feel inspired every second to be getting better. Sometimes the most boring days are the ones where we’re actually holding the line.

That’s all I’ve got. Just wanted to say it out loud in case someone else needed to hear it too.
