About Harriet Hunter and Miracles of Recovery

Each Thursday at 11:00 a.m., facilitator Harriet Hunter (pseudonym), presents a story from her award-winning book, “Miracles of Recovery. Daily Meditations of Hope, Courage and Faith.
After the story is read, attendees discuss how the story resonated with them personally, while opening the door for others to share their experience, strength and hope. The attendees are the core of the meeting.
Prior to the end of each meeting, Harriet loves to share snippets of messages from each speaker, passing on their words of wisdom so others will take what they need from them. Her hope is to remind others of the importance in unity, and our singleness of purpose: to stay clean and sober for our highest good, and to remember that in these rooms we are all as important as the next person. Snippets help to validate each persons’ own strengths and positivity as its together, we stay sober. The only criteria to attend is a willingness to pass on meaningful messages and to keep coming back!
What Regular Members Share About The Meeting
Regular attendees have a lot to say about the Miracles of Recovery weekly meeting on Nightcapjournal.
I have experienced in the live meetings of Miracles of Recovery positivity, that reinforces the strong message of recovery. Harriet shares in a calm and kind way to recap the reading and opens the floor for others to share what’s on their hearts and minds. I can feel the empowerment of the meeting as Harriet shares a few strong points shared by the people who come up to participate. It’s really helpful at a group level to hear the message again as often I forget what I say or even more importantly what others hear. Thank you so much for your dedication to sharing the message and recapping the meetings each week. Thanks for being part of my recovery and Nightcapjournal. - Browneyeskat
Miracles of Recovery has benefited me by how you give feedback and encouragement after every share. That was so uplifting, especially when I started getting out of my comfort zone early one. Even today when I need a healthy mental lift or when I’m just dealing with life in general during some of those lower moments. Yes, a “Mental lift” has been such a boost in my confidence in my early stages and it continues to be to this day. When I was a newcomer on Nightcapjournal, Miracles of Recovery helped me get out of my shell and become comfortable sharing. It was so welcoming to me as a newcomer and continues to be so. I see it in the shares on the new folks today. I really like the way it is still. I think that my early experiences in the Miracles of Recovery meetings has been such an amazing stepping stone. - What the Hec
